Engadget Show Dedicated to Education and Tech

If you're interesting in how technology is influencing education and how kids are learning about tech then the latest Engadget show is well worth watching. They have rounded up lots of education and tech related topics to give an overview of the current landscape in schools and afterschool activities.

Topics covered include using robots for outreach, One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) and iPads in schools, Google's education initiatives, 3D printing (one of our favorite topics!), LeapReader, electronics, teaching kids to code and lots more cool stuff.

Technology is taking a while to really take off in schools. This is partly due to the investment required and the difficulty in investing when the technology is changing so rapidly. It's also to do with making technology easy for schools to adopt - having the wrong technology can actually slow lessons down rather than speed them up.

These are just point in time problems though. We need to work through them to get to the point where great technology is commonplace in schools. Then I think we're going to see a major shift in how kids learn.

This edition of the Engadget show brings together lots of the projects that are working towards a technology-enabled education for all kids.
