Ooh exciting! littleBits have announced a new Code Kit for education. The kit targets children in grades 3-8 (equivalent to year 4-9 in the UK.)
Each kit comes with 16 bits (including a codeBit) and 30 accessories and can be used by 1-3 students. The cool bit is that the bits can be programmed with a blockly-based drag and drop coding tool.
As we've come to expect from littleBits there are lots of resources to help teachers make the most of the kit. There are four big projects to make and code which look like lots of fun. You also get 10 lesson plans and lots of cross-curricula activities.
Looks great for schools but we can see a lot of families being interesting in the littleBits Code Kit too.
The price of the kit is $299.95 and it will be available in June 2017. You can see a preview of the Code Kit on the littleBits website.
